About Fontana K9 PALS

Our Mission & History

Fontana K9 PALS was founded in 1990 with one clear mission: to support the brave police dogs and handlers who protect our community. We fund the acquisition, training, medical care, and specialized equipment for the Fontana Police Department’s K-9 Unit. Each dog costs over $10,000 to purchase and train, and our work ensures the department doesn’t have to divert public funds. Thanks to community support, we’ve helped maintain one of the most respected K-9 programs in Southern California. We also provide public education and host K-9 demonstrations to build trust between law enforcement and the community.
